My photo
Dr Arshad Ali Bhatti
I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics, IIIE, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), and have also served as its Head for four years. I have completed my doctoral studies from The University of Manchester, UK, with an A (i) grade. The title of my PhD thesis is “Essays on Financial Development, Inequality and Economic Growth”, which is an attempt to explore precisely the channels and conditions that may affect finance-growth and inequality-growth relationships. My research interests include macroeconomics, growth and development, financial institutions and markets, international trade & finance, and applied econometrics. I have published in reputed national and international journals, such as Journal of Economic Surveys, Energy Policy, and Financial Innovation. My PhD research was sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) on winning a nationwide competition. Prior to starting PhD studies, I obtained MSc and MPhil degrees in Economics from IIUI, where I have been serving since 2002.
